Scholarship Requirements:

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Academic Standing:

    • For the Future Dental Professional Scholarship: Applicant must be a current high school senior planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate program for the upcoming academic year.

    • For the Pre-Dental Student Scholarship: Applicant must be applying for dental school for the upcoming academic year and may be a student of post-baccalaureate or other dental-related programs.

    • For the "On the Rise" Dental Student Scholarship: Applicant must be a current dental student in good standing.

  2. Field of Study:

    • The scholarship is open to students pursuing degrees that support current dental-related careers.

  3. Citizenship:

    • Open to U.S. citizens or legal residents.

  4. Financial Need:

    • Applicants should demonstrate financial need. A completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) may be required.

Application Materials:

  1. Completed Application Form:

    • Applicants must fill out and submit the official scholarship application form.

  2. Transcript:

    • A copy of the applicant's most recent academic transcript.  Unofficial transcripts may be submitted if they can be verified by the school.

  3. Letters of Recommendation:

    • Two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or other individuals who can speak to the applicant's academic achievements, character, and potential.

  4. Personal Statement:

    • A well-crafted personal statement explaining educational and career goals, why the applicant is deserving of the scholarship, and how it aligns with their aspirations.  Personal statement may be submitted in written form (maximum 750 words) or video (maximum 3 minutes). Written statements must be submitted in PDF format; video statements may be submitted in MP4 format or as a YouTube link saved in a pdf. Please let us know if you experience challenges uploading your statement.

 Additional Requirements:

  1. Resume:

    • A current resume highlighting academic achievements, extracurricular activities, community service, and relevant experiences.

  2. Proof of Enrollment:

    • For the Future Dental Professional Scholarship: If awarded the scholarship, recipients must provide proof of acceptance (or pending acceptance) in an accredited undergraduate program.

    • For the Pre-Dental Student Scholarship: If awarded the scholarship, recipients must provide information related to applying to dental school.

    • For the "On the Rise" Dental Student Scholarship: If awarded the scholarship, recipients must provide proof of enrollment in an accredited dental school.

  3. Community and Foundation Involvement:

    • Preference may be given to applicants with a demonstrated commitment to community service or involvement in extracurricular activities, and who have attended events hosted by the Foundation.

Submission Deadline:

  • All application materials must be submitted by March 1, 2024. Late submissions will not be considered.

Selection Process:

  • Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship committee, and recipients will be selected based on academic merit, financial need, personal statements, and other relevant criteria.

 Award Amount:

  • The scholarship award is $1000 and will be disbursed directly to the recipient to cover tuition and related expenses.

 Notification:

  • Scholarship recipients will be notified by April 30, 2024. Non-recipients will also be notified.

  • Scholarship recipients will be invited to and recognized at The Golden Foundation's Scholarship in May 2024.
