STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

Building homes for the nation is too important a priority to neglect the education, training and research that will be needed to support the residential construction industry. The National Housing Endowment is answering the call by continuing to find avenues to educate students on the many opportunities a career in construction offers.

Student Scholarships

GRANGER MACDONALD / DOUG WISTNER SCHOLARSHIP


Applicant must be pursuing degree or certificate in a field related to residential construction management or residential construction trades.
Applicant must have at least a B (3.0) GPA.
Applicant must attend an accredited 4 year college or vo/tech school.
Preference given, but not limited to Texas residents and/or students attending Texas schools.

HERMAN J. SMITH SCHOLARSHIP


Applicant must be pursuing a degree in residential construction management, mortgage finance, or a construction related field at an accredited 4-year institution.
Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student for the upcoming fall term and have at least one full academic year of course work remaining after the scholarship is awarded.
Applicant cannot be a high school senior.

LEE S. EVANS SCHOLARSHIP


Applicant must be interested in obtaining employment in a leadership role in the residential construction industry upon graduation. (ex. owner, project manager, superintendent, etc)
Applicant must have at least one semester of completed course work at a college or university on their official transcript.
Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student for the upcoming fall term and have at least one full academic year of course work remaining after the scholarship is awarded.
Applicant cannot be a high school senior.
Students who will be in their fifth-year of undergrad (5th year senior)in the fall are NOT eligible.

NATIONAL HOUSING ENDOWMENT EOC STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND


Applicant must be a child of a full- or part-time paid Executive Officer with a minimum of three years’ cumulative service for an NAHB affiliated association.
Applicant must be a a graduating high school senior; OR already have a high school diploma or GED.
Applicant must be enrolled, accepted or have a pending acceptance to an accredited two-year junior or community college, four-year college or university, or state-accredited vo-tech school.
Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Applicant must hold, or plan to hold, full-time status at an accredited educational institution.

PULTE GROUP BUILD YOUR FUTURE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM


Applicant must be pursuing study in a residential related field, such as construction management, building, construction technology, civil engineering, architecture, or any of the residential trade specialties.
Applicant must be registered as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student for the upcoming fall term and have at least one full academic year of course work remaining after the scholarship is awarded.
Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for all courses and 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for core curriculum courses.

NAHB PROFESSIONAL WOMEN IN BUILDING STRATEGIES FOR SUCCESS SCHOLARSHIPS


These scholarship fund encourages students to further their education in housing industry-related programs.

  • Strategies for Success Scholarship
    Applicant must be pursuing study in a residential related program such as construction management, building, construction technology, civil engineering, architecture, design or any of the trade specialties at the college or university.
    Applicant must be registered as a full-time student this coming fall with at least one full academic year of course work remaining after the scholarship is received at a two or four year college or university/vocational program.
  • Building Hope Scholarship
    Applicants must be enrolled as full-time or part-time students at the start of the fall semester at a college, university or trade school with at least one course or trade related program remaining after the scholarship is received.
    Applicants must be pursuing an education in a residential building related course of study or residential vocational/trade program.
    Awards are given for tuition, school/program fees only and will be paid directly to the academic/program institution by the National Housing Endowment.
    Scholarship recipients may be required to provide verification of enrollment prior to disbursement of award.
    Applicants must submit a complete application with letters of recommendation by the application deadline.
  • Leadership Scholarship
    Applicants must have an NAHB PWB membership in good standing.
    Preference may be given to PWB members who have served in PWB leadership roles at the local and/or national levels (i.e. local council chair/vice chair, NAHB PWB subcommittee chair/vice chair, etc.).
    If applicable, proof of course/program registration and/or attendance may be required before award disbursement.
    Applicants must submit a complete application with letters of recommendation by the application deadline.

ROGER GLUNT/HELP STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND


This scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a construction management program receiving Homebuilding Education Leadership Program (HELP) funding in the current calendar year. List of all HELP schools here.
Applicants will be awarded based on:

  • Academic Transcript
  • Residential construction management coursework, past and current
  • National Association of Home Builders (“NAHB”) Chapter participation
  • Residential construction industry engagement
  • Work or volunteer experience
  • Career plans as detailed in writing by the applicant
  • Financial need
